The Others freed the  cassandra sangue  to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before—both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.

Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.

For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep…

Anne Bishop’s new book is almost heeerrrreeeeee!!!! I cannot WAIT to get my hands on it! I’m so in love with this new world of hers, and book 3 promises to ratchet the tension up to a whole new level. I was so pumped when they up-ed this from a 3 to a 5 book series, but it means I have to wait that much longer for the finale. *tear slides slowly down cheek* lol, but aside from that, I see no downsides to this series. Everything she writes is so unique, and this Alternate-world fantasy is just the latest in a career of truly original work. Have I reached gushing territory yet? … No? Good. It’s just sooooo goooood! I love Meg and Simon and the way they are working to get to know and trust each other. Now, after the events of the finale of the second book, I’m so excited to see how things get even more complicated for them.

And with a final Fangirl, Squeeeeeeee! I’m done.

What are you waiting for this week?

Books, Teaser Tuesdays

Teaser Tuesdays: Dragon Bound and Celtic Moon

Teaser Tuesdays

It’s time for another “Teaser Tuesday!”

This feature (or meme)  is one I discovered on my friend Kim’s site Book Munchies, and is hosted by MizB of the Should Be Reading blog. For those of you who would like to play along at home (or more specifically on your homepage), here is how Teaser Tuesdays work.

– Grab (one of) your current read(s) and open it to a random page
– Share a couple “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

“I think you’re my hero,” she said. Only half kidding.

He stared at her, the picture of incredulity. “Most people,” he said, “think I am a very bad man.”

She studied his eyes to try to find out if that bothered him. He didn’t seem bothered by it. He seemed discomfited by her. “Well,” she said, at last, “maybe you’re a very good dragon.”

“You can’t still be hungry.” She shook her head. Enid had rectified her dinner after the first course. “You must’ve had two loaves of bread with the roast.”

“You promised,” he reminded her.

“I know, sweetheart. But it’s been a long day and I’m exhausted. I’ll make it up to you in the morning.”

His shoulders slumped, disappointed. “With what?”

“Homemade cinnamon rolls.”

He turned his head, his interest piqued. “Blueberry pancakes and homemade cinnamon rolls?”

She tried not to smile but it was a pointless attempt. “You drive me crazy.”

“I make your life interesting,” he teased, using humor to lighten her mood, as he’d always done. “What would you do without me?”
