Teaser Tuesdays: The Sin Eater’s Daughter and Writer to Writer

Teaser Tuesdays

It’s time for another “Teaser Tuesday!”

This feature (or meme)  is one I discovered on my friend Kim’s site Book Munchies, and is hosted by MizB of the Should Be Reading blog. For those of you who would like to play along at home (or more specifically on your homepage), here is how Teaser Tuesdays work.

– Grab (one of) your current read(s) and open it to a random page
– Share a couple “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

—> Now on to the main event!

The Sin Eater’s Daughter (Angel & Faith, #2) by Melinda Salisbury

Hardcover, 320 pages
Publisher: Scholastic Press
Release Date: February 24, 2015
ISBN# 9780545810623
Page: 24

The servants realized, though, that I was a weapon. I can’t blame them for their hatred now; if I hadn’t been so naive, I might not have been so cruel to them. But it’s better for them if they do stay away, lest Tyrek’s fate befall them too.

This second book I’m reading for work, but I already think it’s a wonderful tool for writers who are just starting out in their craft. It’s meant for kids, but, as an adult, I think the advice is great, regardless of your age!

Writer to Writer: From Think to Ink by  Gail Carson Levine

Hardcover, 304 pages
Publisher: HarperCollins
Release Date: December 23rd, 2014
ISBN# 9780062275301
Page: 13

If you don’t do this already, discuss books with friends. Join a book club if you can. Analyzing books and sharing opinions will open you up to new ideas and also solidify what you believe.
