It’s time for another “Teaser Tuesday!”
This feature (or meme) is one I discovered on my friend Kim’s site Book Munchies, and is hosted by MizB of the Should Be Reading blog. For those of you who would like to play along at home (or more specifically on your homepage), here is how Teaser Tuesdays work.
– Grab (one of) your current read(s) and open it to a random page
– Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
– Remember to include the title & author, too, so that your followers and any Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their reading lists if your tease has captured their attention!
—> Now on to the main event!
Storm Siren (Storm Siren, #1) by Mary Weber
Hardcover, 320 pages
Publisher: Thomas Nelson/HarperCollins
Release Date: August 19th, 2014
ISBN# 9781401690342
Page: 195
“I step through the scraggly opening and out onto a rainwater-tipped field overlooking a vast, glittering valley.
Mother-of-kracken.
I stall.
The air is wet and cold and drippy and enchanted.
And it tastes of magic.”
This second teaser comes from an e-galley I received courtesy of the publisher and NetGalley. Thanks to them for allowing me to check it out early!
The Good Sister by Jamie Kain
Hardcover, 304 pages
Publisher: St. Martins Griffin
Release Date: October 7th, 2014
ISBN# 9781250047731
Page: 14 of the e-galley
“I found one of Sarah’s hairs in the sink this morning,” I say out of the blue, and Sin takes this news in stride.
For days now he’s been listening to me recount all the ways I can’t believe my sister is gone.
‘Mother of kracken.’ made me LOL
The Good Sister may be too close to home for me to read right now. I recently lost my sister who lived with me and I experience that very thing several times a day. I’ll add it to my TBR for later though.
Here’s my tease from Curses and Smoke – http://fuonlyknew.com/2014/08/26/teaser-tuesdays-77-curses-and-smoke-a-novel-of-pompeii/

Yeah, the colloquialisms in Storm Siren were pretty fantastic. I’m sorry about your sister. Thanks for visiting my site.

Both sound very intriguing.
My teaser this week is from a thriller similar to Dan Brown’s offerings:
