Teaser Tuesdays: Midnight Thief and The 100

Teaser Tuesdays

It’s time for another “Teaser Tuesday!”

This feature (or meme)  is one I discovered on my friend Kim’s site Book Munchies, and is hosted by MizB of the Should Be Reading blog. For those of you who would like to play along at home (or more specifically on your homepage), here is how Teaser Tuesdays work.

– Grab (one of) your current read(s) and open it to a random page
– Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
– BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
– Remember to include the title & author, too, so that your followers and any Teaser Tuesday participants can add the book to their reading lists if your tease has captured their attention!

—> Now on to the main event!

Today it’s double trouble, as I have 2 books that I just can’t put down at the moment! The first is brand new, being released today, and I’m SUPER excited to get it started. The second came out last fall, and has already been turned into a TV show on the CW. Hope you enjoy these teasers!

Midnight Thief (Midnight Thief, #1) by Livia Blackburne

Hardcover, 368 pages
Publisher: Disney-Hyperion
Release Date: July 8th, 2014
ISBN# 9781423176381
Page: 24

“’Ah, the ruby.’ James met Kyra’s gaze, the corners of his mouth lifting as if sharing a private joke. ‘Pity you couldn’t find it.’ He might as well have admitted flat out that the ruby had never existed.”

The 100The 100 (The Hundred, #1) by Kass Morgan

Hardcover, 323 pages
Publisher: Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
Release Date: September 3rd, 2013
ISBN# 9780316234474
Page: 56

“Every night he’d spent in Confinement, he’d fallen asleep dreaming about arriving on Earth with Clarke. But instead of holding her hand while they gazed at the planet in wonder, he’d spent the day sorting through burned supplies and trying to forget the expression that crossed Clarke’s face when she spotted him. He hadn’t expected her to throw her arms around him, but nothing could have prepared him for the look of pure loathing in her eyes.”

    1. Yeah! I’m already nervous about what’s going to happen with Midnight Thief, and I’m not very far along yet. But The 100, yes, it was a mid-season starter on the CW, and one of the only shows they kept for next year. The show and the book have a lot of differences, but I like them both!
